About

My name is Johan Groundstroem. On 8 July, I did something which I had been dreading for ages – I stood on the scales. 127.7 kg. I suddenly realised that if I want to watch my children grow up, I had to do something, IMMEDIATELY! There’s one thing I ought to explain: I love hamburgers, and it struck me that I had never heard of anyone losing weight by eating only hamburgers. Yes, quite simply, a hamburger diet. I made up my mind. I wanted to prove that you can lose weight by eating hamburgers. I contacted the The Swedish hamburger chain Max, and asked if they would consider sponsoring me with their products (I knew that they sell hamburgers marked with the Swedish keyhole symbol, that identifies food which is high in fibre and low in fat and sugar).

Max has just agreed! So on 9 July, it’s kick-off time. For 90 days, I will be eating nothing but hamburgers from Max. My goal? To lose 20 kg! Can I do it? Of course! I’m as stubborn as a mule and my will is as strong as steel. I’ve even booked check-ups with a doctor to keep an eye on my values during the diet. I will be reporting on my weight day by day, and will, of course, add pictures so that you can follow my progress.

    Hi Johan!

I was just wondering if you are watching your carb intake and if that is what has propelled you to more than meet your goal. In other words, are you eating just the hamburgers (i.e. not the buns) and simply drinking water as opposed to some sugary syrup filled soda pop?

I’m asking because I’ve tried the low carb diet which ended up really bad because I’m hypoglycemic and I NEED a certain amount of sugar. After 3 days of no more than 12 grams of carbs per day, I awoke in the middle of the night shaking and feeling VERY faint and light-headed. I rushed to the refrigerator and found a bottle of Mountain Dew and proceeded to CHUG about 14 fl. oz. No more than 4 minutes later I was back to normal.

If this is something more than a super-low-carb diet that you’re doing I’d really like to try it (or something similar).

Thanks ahead of time for your help!

This is the same Ryan from the previous comment, I just realized that the first one had my e-mail put in incorrectly. The one you’ll get now is the right one if you’d like to respond that way.

    Thanks!
